Board of Directors

The board of directors is the governing body of United Way of McPherson County. Membership consists of no more than 25 volunteers with each member serving a three-year term. Two consecutive terms may be served. In addition to attending regular board meetings, each board member serves on a standing committee of their choice to address ongoing agency activities related to community impact projects, fundraising and marketing, allocations and finance/personnel issues. Board members may also be assigned to adhoc committees as needs arise. The board of directors oversees the executive director who is responsible for all agency operations.

United Way of McPherson County is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including, for such purposes as, raising awareness, mobilizing funds, and the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

The mission of the United Way of McPherson County is to build stronger communities by mobilizing resources in order to amplify and address common concerns for the common good.

In fulfilling this mission the United Way of McPherson County is committed to intentionally and explicitly addressing systemic gaps that hinder those of greatest need from accessing necessary resources. This includes maintaining policies and practices that support equitable representation and application of services.
